The ski tour to the Rohrspitzli is challenging and involves a long ascent. In return, you’ll be rewarded with impressive descents and a varied route between Göscheneralp, Meiental, and Voralp.
The starting point is Göscheneralpstrasse. From there, the route initially follows the summer hiking trail up to the Salbithütte and continues across the Gemschplanggen. During the ascent to the Meiggelengrat, you’ll need to carry your skis for a short distance. From the ridge, the tour continues toward Rohrfirn. After crossing the glacier, a ski depot is set up below the rock face.
The final section involves walking across the rock face and then along the ridge to the summit at 3,220 m above sea level. From there, an impressive view of the surrounding mountains unfolds.
For the descent, there are two options: either return via the same route or head down the other side into the Meiental valley.
