Gersau - Platten - Plattenweg - Tunnel - Strandbad Cholplatz - Gersau

Fancy a scenic walk? Not bothered by a small ascent? And a final jump into the water at the Strandbad Cholplatz? Then this is just the right thing for you!

Along the village stream and then further on the mountain road we reach Platten. We turn left and walk behind the Hotel Restaurant Platten past the houses on the narrow wooden path to the viewpoint. The magnificent view over the village and lake rewards our efforts. Here you can let your soul dangle on the bench.

The hiking trail takes us back down to Renggstrasse and then left to the tunnel. Once again we can let our gaze wander over Gersau. On the natural path we reach the Strandbad Cholplatz, where you can stop in summer, even if you don't go swimming.

It goes back to Gersau on the sidewalk.

Shortcut: You can also walk directly from the tunnel along the road to Gersau.

Note:
So that future generations and tomorrow's walkers can also enjoy the Plattenweg Gersau, we ask you to take your rubbish with you again.

Good footwear and weather-appropriate clothing recommended.

Directions & Parking facilities

Via motorway A4: exit Küssnacht or exit Brunnen.

However, we recommend public transport instead of a car: sit back, enjoy and also do something good for the environment.

There are various paid parking options in the village: for example at the quay area by the lake or in the middle of the village by the old town hall.

Buses run at least every half hour in both directions in Gersau.

Gersau is also accessible by boat!

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

You can also take a jump into the water a bit away from the bathing area: To the right of it there is a public sunbathing lawn.

The opposite is also very possible with a stop at the Restaurant Platten.

Safety guidelines

Please do not take the walk if there is strong föhn wind.
