Gersau - Kindli Chapel - Büol - Gersau

Along the lake we come to a wildly romantic nature trail leading us to the legendary Kindli Chapel. On the way back to the "old free republic" Gersau, Lake Lucerne lies at our feet.

On the sidewalk towards Brunnen we can repeatedly enjoy breathtaking views deep into the clear Lake Lucerne. Shortly after the Seehof, we turn right onto a nature trail that runs directly along the lake. Here you can also swim and barbecue well.

At the end of the path lies the wildly romantic Kindli Chapel. The legend tells that a father murdered his only child there after it repeatedly asked for bread. Hence it is also called the Kindlimord Chapel. (Full legend: youtube/The Kindlimord in Gersau) The chapel is so beautifully located that it is often used today as a wedding chapel. Those who want can light a candle there.

We start the return on the sidewalk of the main road and cross it approximately halfway. Through the Heiterbüöl forest we reach the hillside settlement Rüteli and walk over the Büol back to Gersau. Again and again, wonderful panoramic views open up over Lake Lucerne towards Pilatus.

Note:
So that future generations or tomorrow’s walkers can also enjoy the beautiful path, please take your trash with you again. Thank you.
