- Start: Rossweid mountain station
- Destination: Brienzer Rothorn cable car mountain station
The hike begins at the Rossweid mountain station in Sörenberg – easily accessible by gondola from the valley station. From here, the path first leads gently over alpine pastures and through light mountain forest towards Blattenegg. The route is well signposted and already offers beautiful views of the surrounding Entlebuch and the nearby hills.
Upon arriving at Blattenegg, the landscape opens up. Here the path branches off and leads into an impressive and increasingly alpine mountain world. Soon you reach the so-called Lättgässli, a narrow, well-secured mountain path that climbs steeply through the rock-strewn slopes. Surefootedness and good basic fitness are required on this section – it can be slippery when wet.
Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view: the sight stretches from Lake Brienz over the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere Reserve to the striking peaks of the Bernese Alps.
After the last ascent, you reach the mountain station of the Brienzer Rothorn cable car located directly below the summit. Those who want can also take the short path to the summit of the Brienzer Rothorn – it’s worth it!
