Between Rothenthurm and Biberbrugg stretches the largest raised bog in Switzerland, enchanting with its untouched nature. Even in winter, a walk through the vast plain of the raised bog is a mystical experience.

The winter hike starts at Rothenthurm station, from where you can reach the raised bog in just a few steps. Snow, frost, or icicles adorn the quiet mountain pine and birch landscape. Enjoy the view of the unique scenery, the Höhronen, the Morgartenberg, and the ridge with the Katzenstrick. Along the way, you will see typical peat huts that recall the former peat extraction. Take the same way back and see the Letziturm with its red roof, built in 1323, which gave the village its name.
