Forstberg, Druesberg and Twäriberg form the unmistakable trio of the Hoch Ybrig. All three are rewarding ski touring destinations. Twäriberg has the advantage that the ascent is somewhat sunnier and easier than that to the higher neighboring peaks.

Additionally, it holds some special treats for experienced ski mountaineers. From the actual ski summit, an exposed ridge leads over to the summit cross, but this is only advisable under good firm snow conditions. Besides the brisk descent along the ascent route, the expert is enticed by the spectacular descents over the NW or the N slope, both at 45°. By the time you are inspecting your own tracks again with a broad grin on the terrace of the Druesberghütte, you have almost forgotten that the morning ascent on the forest road felt somewhat monotonous. This can be avoided, by ascending directly to the Steinhüttli and from there crossing to the Twäriberg.

Under safe conditions, the descent over the north slope is a challenging but not too difficult undertaking for confident skiers.
