This circular hike leads through one of the most impressive landscapes of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Entlebuch – directly at the foot of the Schrattenfluh. The starting point is the Wagliseiboden, a small alpine starting point at the edge of the Schratten massif.
The path starts at Wagliseiboden, located above Sörenberg. First, the trail leads through open pastures, later through sparse forests uphill towards Chlus. Along the way, there are always beautiful views of the northern flank of the Schrattenfluh and over the raised bog area, which is unique throughout Switzerland.
At Chlus, you reach the highest point of the loop. From here, it goes slightly downhill to Alp Schlund. The return path leads on a comfortable alpine road back down to Wagliseiboden. Particularly impressive is the quiet, almost mystical atmosphere of the moor landscape, which shapes the landscape with its wet meadows, birch islands, and typical plants.
