Winter hiking route 520: Ruoggig - Biel - Ratzi
From Ratzi, the path gradually ascends to Feldmess. From here, you maintain the altitude and can leisurely hike westward. Where the cowbells ring in summer, there is peace and quiet in winter. The sun accompanies you throughout the whole hike. You can also stop for a break along the way if you feel like it.

- Getting thereBy car, take the highway towards Gotthard. At Flüelen, leave the highway and drive towards Altdorf. You pass through Altdorf. At the second roundabout south of Altdorf, turn towards Klausen Pass, pass Bürglen and soon reach Spiringen.ParkingIn Spiringen, you will find sufficient parking spaces right next to the valley station of the cable car.Public transportationThe valley station of the Spiringen-Ratzi cable car is easily reachable by bus from Flüelen station or from Altdorf Telldenkmal.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
- If you have enough stamina, you can continue hiking with snowshoes from Ruoggig to the Eggbergen above Altdorf.
Safety guidelines
- Ask the railway staff about the avalanche danger. They will tell you if the passage near Alafund is too dangerous. You can then use the Bürglen-Biel cable car.
