Concert with organist Jesús Sampedro Márquez
Guest soloist Jesús Sampedro Márquez is a professor of organ at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Seville. He completed his musical training in his native Andalusia: he earned his organ teaching diploma with honors in both Seville and Málaga. He then continued his studies at the Conservatoire National in Paris, where he was awarded the prestigious Médaille de Vermeil.

As an internationally sought-after organist, Jesús Sampedro Márquez is known for his numerous concerts throughout Europe and various CD recordings. In Weggis, the audience can look forward to a varied and richly textured programme that combines masterpieces of European organ literature with the Spanish musical tradition. In addition to one major work each by Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi, the programme features compositions by Spanish masters, including two dances by the famous Manuel de Falla as well as sacred works by Eduardo Torres and Jesús Guridi. A special highlight is the organ arrangement of a concerto by Joaquín Rodrigo. The programme is rounded out by further musical discoveries from composers whose works are less well-known in this country.
