Bürgenstock - Hammetschwand lift

A shuttle boat runs from Lucerne to Kehrsiten-Bürgenstock, where you board the funicular railway that takes you up to the Bürgenstock Resort.

Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne

Cliff Walk

The cliff walk was built between 1900 and 1905 and leads high above Lake Lucerne along the cliff from the Bürgenstock Resort to the Känzeli viewpoint. On the route, you will pass the valley station of the Hammetschwand lift.
The cliff walk stretches over a length of 2.2 km, the round trip covers 5 km. It is accessible from around May to October.

Hammetschwand Lift

Experience the highest outdoor lift in Europe. Your route starts at the Cliff walk and takes you along the edge of the mountain with magnificent views of Lake Lucerne to the valley station of the Hammetschwand lift. At 1'132 metres, it is the highest outdoor lift in Europe.
