mountain railway
The valley station of the cog railroad from Goldau is located directly on the railroad line of the north-south axis.

To the timetables
The valley station of the Rigi Railway is just a few minutes' walk from Arth-Goldau railroad station. Opened in 1875, the Arth-Rigi Railway is steeped in history and still fascinates young and old 150 years later. The valley station is not only easily accessible by public transport, Goldau is also perfectly located by car. The large A4 parking lot is right next to the Goldau freeway exit. After the Goldau valley station, the A4 station is the second stop on the cable car.
From the A4 stop, the Rigi Railway climbs up the steep track to Rigi Kulm. At the intermediate station Kräbel (approx. 10 minutes from Goldau) you have the option of changing to the Kräbel-Rigi Scheidegg aerial cableway. The Rigi Railway winds its way through forests and tunnels, over spacious meadows and past steep waterfalls up to the summit of Rigi Kulm. The train ride affords views of the vast Mittelland and Lake Zug time and again. A ride in one of the many historic carriages is an experience in itself. In the beautiful nostalgic carriages dating from 1871 to 1911, you can enjoy the panoramic view in the fresh mountain air. The highlight is a ride on steam locomotives no. 16 and no. 17, built in 1923 and 1925 respectively.
