The town of Lenzburg was founded in the 13th century by the Counts of Kyburg. In 1306 it was granted town charter, which can still be seen today in the listed town wall. Explore the charming old town with its pretty alleys, squares and fountains!
An old town of national importance
The old town has a horseshoe-shaped layout. The wide main street (Rathausgasse) and a parallel side street to the south and north, as well as the Kirchgasse at the lower end, which runs at right angles to Rathausgasse, form the heart of the old town. The old town centre at the foot of the Schlossberg is of national importance.
