Exhibition
The lovingly renovated Sempach Town Hall shows what life was like here and how the Sempach War was fought in 1386 and the Confederates won an important victory over the Habsburgs.
On four floors, contemporary documents tell about social, political, economic and religious life in Sempach from the late Middle Ages to the present. The town hall, which was built in 1474 and has since been restored, also takes on the role of such a contemporary document itself. The attic is dedicated to the Sempach War of 1386 and provides an insight into the events of this eventful year. The story of the national hero Winkelried and the change in commemorative ceremonies prove to be historical lessons. The content is presented in a contemporary way and supports your encounter with history.
