In 1919, the Weggiser Strandbad opened its doors. It was Switzerland’s first co-ed beach resort. This pioneering achievement sparked heated debate. One hundred years ago, it was by no means a given that women and men would enjoy swimming together. For some, the opening of the coed facility was a sensation; for others, a scandal.

Openings
- The opening hours listed above apply to the indoor pool. The Lido is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. In cold and rainy weather, there are no lifeguards on duty at the Lido.
