For more than 85 years, the festival has brought famous symphony orchestras, legendary conductors and first-class soloists from all over the world to Lucerne. With several festivals a year and the big summer festival, the programme offers a broad spectrum: from Mozart to modernism, from Mendelssohn to innovative experimentation.
The summer is flanked by short festivals in spring and autumn: before Easter by a spring residency of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, in May by the new piano festival curated by pianist Igor Levit and in autumn by "Lucerne Festival Forward".
