Marbles on the Stanserhorn

Animal Park
The marmots on the Stanserhorn have been delighting visitors with their lively activity high above Lake Lucerne for over 100 years.
Since 1912, the "Stanserhorn-Muiggen" have lived in the enclosure between the mountain station and the summit of the Stanserhorn, where they work diligently on their burrows in summer. They carefully prepare for their long hibernation in well-padded burrows. Visitors are allowed to observe and photograph the marmots, but should never whistle, as this is considered a warning signal and makes the marmots disappear immediately.
