Stoos-Seeli

Lake
Mountain lake
The Stoos-Seeli lies idyllically surrounded by mountain peaks on the edge of the mountain village of Stoos.
The Stoos-Seeli is the end point of the moorland trail and offers barbecue sites, picnic areas, a children's water playground and a toilet facility. A footbridge takes you to the Seeli, where you can cool your feet in the water after a hike.

Interesting facts about the Stoos Seeli:

The Stoos-Seeli was built by Stoosbahnen AG in 2008/09. It holds approx. 22,000m3 of water and is fed exclusively from the overflow of the Stoos water supply. It fulfils several purposes:

  • Summer adventure spot and meeting place for young and old.- Water reservoir for snow
  • making on the pistes in winter- Source of water for fire-fighting operations
  • Emergency reserve for a possible feed
  • back into the drinking water reservoir
  • Flood protection for the village of Stoos in the event of heavy rainfall in and around the frontal area.

Caution: Especially in winter, the water level of the Stoos-Seelis can rise or fall rapidly. Use of the Stoos-Seelis and the surrounding area is at your own risk.

Fishing in the small mountain lake:

A highlight for young and old: fish together in the Stoos-Seeli and bring the fish back for lunch or dinner. How would it be if the son or daughter from the family outing brought along dinner right away?

The shipping company releases trout in the Stoos-Seeli every spring and summer. Fishing is possible without registration. The fished fish can be paid for at the weekends during the summer season at the Stoos-Seeli and if no one is there, at the Bergsonne inn.
