Via ferrata Fürenwand
The Fürenwand is an impressively steep and high wall. Before the via ferrata was set up, only one very technically demanding climbing route led through this wall. Very experienced via ferrata climbers will now have real fun on this route.
The Fürenwand via ferrata is steep and extremely exposed. The route is spectacular. The via ferrata was renovated in spring 2024 and is very well secured. An exposed rope ladder is certainly the highlight and also the key point. The Fürenwand is exposed on the south-west side. The Fürenalp mountain restaurant directly above the wall treats guests to local and creative dishes. The Fürenalp cable car takes you back to Engelberg in comfort. Alternatively, a hiking trail leads down into the valley.

Important notice
The via ferrata is only suitable for very experienced via ferrata climbers! Excellent surefootedness, a head for heights and great arm strength are required! Climbing is at your own risk. We also recommend that via ferrata beginners climb the tour under professional supervision.

Via ferrata sets with helmets can be hired from us at the Fürenalp valley station. We recommend reserving via ferrata sets by telephone on 041 637 20 94 (opening hours 8:30 - 17:30) or by e-mail. A limited number of via ferrata sets (helmet, climbing harness, slings) are available.
