A small natural paradise in the middle of the forest
Between Römerswil and Neudorf there is a protected forest with a forest indentation enclosed by hedges, which includes ponds, ditches, wet meadows, tall herbaceous meadows and large sedge meadows. The large ponds are inhabited by more than 20 species of dragonfly, including the damselfly, damselfly and hawker dragonfly. Water and grass frogs, common toads, alpine newts and grass snakes also feel at home here. Thanks to sustainable management, the mixed coniferous forest will give way to mixed deciduous forest over the next two decades so that native species can find ideal conditions and the area can continue to thrive.
The nature reserve is an ideal place to find peace and quiet. The chirping of the birds, the buzzing of the bees and the croaking of the frogs create a calming atmosphere and connect you with nature.
Opening times
The nature reserve is open all year round and accessible free of charge.
