Soppen lake

Nature reserve

Idyllic nature reserve with circular trail around the small lake.

The Soppensee, or Soppisee as the locals affectionately call it, is a small pearl of water. The small lake is 800 m long and 400 m wide and is located in the municipalities of Buttisholz, Menznau and Ruswil. The lake owes its name to the marshy bristle grass, also known as soppa.

Including stops to listen, watch and marvel, you can circle the lake in an hour. If you take a break, you can also stay longer in the nature reserve at Lake Soppa.

Please note that swimming in the Soppensee is prohibited.
