- Start: Gotthard Pass
- Destination: Gotthard Pass
The 5-lake hike at the Gotthard Pass is one of the most beautiful hikes around the Gotthard massif. At every step, hikers experience the fascination of Gotthard up close. The hike starts from the Gotthard Hospiz. The first three kilometers lead over flat terrain toward the northwest. At the foot of the Lucendro dam, the ascent begins. Once you reach the Lago di Lucendro, the route turns north. After 4.5 kilometers, you reach Lago d'Orsino. Through a high alpine mountain world, the trail veers southwest, passing by Lago die Orsirora to the Gatschola Pass. Once at the pass, the view opens to the north over the entire Alpine world. A wonderful place for a picnic.
Well rested, the descent begins. Hikers pass by two larger and several smaller lakes on the way back, where the Alpine air can be enjoyed one last time during a final break before the descent to Gotthard begins.
