The 3rd stage of the Four Sources Route starts at Gotthard Pass and then leads to Lake Lucendro and over the Lucendro Pass into the Bedretto valley, where the Piansecco Hut is located.

Hike from source to source and overnight right along the route: The Four Sources Route in the Gotthard region allows you to explore the area where four rivers originate in five stages. Experience the water divide and weather divide of Europe on the Four Sources Route. In the legendary Gotthard massif, you hike to the four sources of the Rhine, Reuss, Ticino, and Rhone, which flow in all four cardinal directions. The alpine hiking trail is divided into five stages.

The third stage starts at Gotthard Pass and ends at the Piansecco Hut. You then hike along Lake Lucendro to the end of the lake. At the foot of the Lucendro Pass, you discover the source of the Reuss. Then you cross the Lucendro Pass and enter the Bedretto valley. After a long, scenic high-altitude hike above the Bedretto valley, you reach the day's destination, the newly renovated Piansecco Hut.

The hike can also be done as a day hike.
