The 5-Lake Hike at the Gotthard Pass is one of the most beautiful hikes around the Gotthard massif. At every step, we experience the fascination of Gotthard up close. Here we can recharge our strength, even if the weather is not beautiful. Especially in fog and overcast skies, the Gotthard sometimes radiates its special attraction. On the 5-Lake Hike, we experience a few lakes more than just 5. Count them! How many do you get?

We start from the Gotthard Hospice. The first three kilometers lead us over flat terrain towards the northwest. At the foot of the Lucendro dam, the ascent begins. As soon as we have reached above Lago di Lucendro, we turn north. After 4.5 kilometers, we arrive at Lago d'Orsino. Half the ascent is done.

Through a high alpine mountain world, the path turns southwest, past Lago di Orsirora to the Gatschola gap. After 2.5 hours of walking time, we reach the Gatschola gap. Here the view opens to the north over the entire Alpine world. A wonderful place to refresh!

Well rested, we head south on the descent. We pass two larger and several smaller lakes back to Lago di Lucendro. Here we enjoy the alpine air once more during a last rest before we take the descent to the Gotthard under our feet.
