Directions
- With the e-bike, the climb from Dallenwil to Wirzweli becomes child's play. Those who want to skip the ascent from Dallenwil to Ächerlipass can take the cable car to Wirzweli and from there cycle with a gentle incline to Ächerlipass. At Ächerlipass, a 10-minute detour to the Holzwang Chapel at 1444 m above sea level is worthwhile. The inscription in the small chapel commemorates the fallen Nidwalden heroes during the French attack on Ächerli in 1798. From here, the view extends across the wide Obwalden region. Afterwards, you can either return directly to Dallenwil or go back via Ennetmoos – Stans to Dallenwil.
Equipment
Good equipment including rain and warm protection, repair and first aid kit are always part of a MTB tour. Wearing a helmet is taken for granted, and a light is required at dusk. E-bikes need daytime running lights on all public traffic areas.
