The beautiful north slopes of the Alpelenhörnli promise the finest powder throughout the winter. A varied route in central Switzerland that will make beginners and enthusiasts alike cheer and shout with joy.

From the valley station of the Titlis express, you first ascend via the blue slope to Untertrübsee. Past the valley station of the Untertrübsee cable car, follow the road under the Stöck-Alpelen material cable car towards Gletti. The route runs mostly through the Alpelen forest along the summer hiking trail up to the Arni-Alpelen at the mountain station of the material cable car. From here you ascend in a wide right arc southward to the Alpelenhörnli (2,024 m), visible from afar.

Equipment can be rented at the sports shops in Engelberg.

Directions & Parking facilities

By car, take the A2 (Basel-Gotthard) to Stans Süd, then 20 km on the main road to Engelberg. Engelberg is 30 minutes from Lucerne, 1 hour and 15 minutes from Basel, Zurich, or Bern.

Parking is available in Engelberg for a fee.

National and international connections (from Zurich Airport connections every half hour with about 1 hour travel time) to Lucerne. Then by Zentralbahn in 43 minutes through varied landscapes and gorges up to Engelberg.
