The Bruderklausenweg is marked with the circular signet of Brother Klaus and is largely identical to the Way of St. James.

The Bruderklausenweg leads from Stans to Flüeli-Ranft and on to Sachseln. On this path, Heimo Amgrund rode into the Ranft on the night of December 21/22, 1481 and brought the advice of Brother Klaus to the Tagsatzung in Stans, which brought peace.

The Bruderklausenweg begins at the church in Stans and leads up Knirigasse to the "Maria zum Schnee" chapel. The memorial to the Battle of Allweg is worth a short detour. The Battle of Allweg took place on September 9, 1798 and ended in victory for the French; after crossing the Stanserhorn cable car, the route continues to Hubel - Murmatt - Obwil - Wilti. There is a rest area in the Rohrnerberg forest. The trail then leads down to the hamlet of Halten and on to Ifängi and the border between Nidwalden and Obwalden. Via Äbernen you reach the "Mai-Chäppeli", then continue in the direction of Lätten - Gisigen to the "St. Antoni" chapel and finally via Egg to St. Niklausen. There is a simple refreshment stop at the Pilgerstübli in Gisigen.

In St. Niklausen, the large stone and unplastered bell tower from the 14th century can be seen from afar. This quiet place of worship stands on a mountain flank offering a magnificent view of Flüeli-Ranft and the Sarneraa valley. The steep descent to the Ranft begins deep down in the Melchaa gorge. The 500-year-old home of Brother Klaus is well worth seeing here. He and his family lived in the house built by Niklaus von Flüe himself until he left to live as a hermit in 1467.
