The impressive stretch combines 45 highlights of Switzerland on a journey over five Alpine passes, past 22 lakes and 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The tour offers a meaningful connection between Alpine areas and cities, tradition and history, nature and culture, art and architecture, the familiar and the unknown, calm and adventurous. It excites guests, guarantees unforgettable experiences, makes the drive a pleasure, and the tour a destination.

Thanks to its high density of experiences, cultural and scenic diversity, and well-developed roads, Switzerland is the ideal touring country. There are countless beautiful routes and places suitable for touring. When setting the route, the focus was solely on tourist attractiveness – and on creating the most impressive and spectacular route in between.

The Grand Tour of Switzerland
…... is varied and spectacular;
... leads to attractions on the most scenic routes;
... guarantees guests several tourist highlights daily;
... uses a motorway only when traffic-wise sensible;
... is passable in both directions, but Switzerland Tourism recommends traveling clockwise. This is especially important to note in cities with one-way streets or motorway ramps;
... includes mountain pass roads with long opening hours or loading opportunities.
