- Start: Engelberg train station
- Destination: Horbis - end of the world
The trail starts at the Engelberg train station and leads to the end of the village street to the monastery chapel. Continue up the stairs until you reach the road. From there the Grottenweg branches off to the right to the Klostermatte, a large meadow where in winter the little guests learn the basics of skiing in Globi's Kinderkland. The high trail continues on the signposted route past the seven springs. At this place the water bubbles crystal clear and pure from the ground. Further along the trail, when you reach the edge of the forest, the next highlight already follows - the Lourdes Grotto. Our Lady is clearly visible on a rocky outcrop. After lighting a candle or taking a short break, you walk over the bridge and left along the Bärenbach stream towards Horbis, the so-called end of the world.
No the end of the world is neither cold nor dark or dangerous, but a cozy restaurant in Horbis, the rearmost part of Engelberg. Here you can put up your tired feet and quench your thirst with a glass of cold cider. The rumbling stomach can also be remedied, because on the menu you will find traditional Engelberg dishes such as Älplermagronen or cheese slices. Strengthened and rested, you return to Engelberg. From the Brunni valley station you can also use the free summer bus.
