The landscape becomes somewhat flatter, but no less impressive. You follow Lake Zug and its mighty reed belt to Cham into the equally mighty villa belt. After that comes pure landscape in the cherry canton, before the Reuss reveals a small piece of Aargau. Gradually, you gain height and views again, so that you can ride for longer stretches on a terrace location to the medieval small town of Sempach. Here, the lake or a lunch on one of the beautiful terraces of the old town beckons. After Sempach, the Heart Route climbs the Ruswilerberg and offers wonderful views of the lake and the Alps. Small chapels and little lakes line the way. Only the quaint town of Willisau reminds you that you actually have thirst and hunger and that your backside hurts a bit. Â
