The west branch of the Herzschlaufe Seetal dives into little known terrain, even though it is right in the middle of Switzerland. You start in the wonderful town of Lenzburg with its impressive castle and soon find yourself in long forest stretches that can make you lose your orientation. An impressive castle surprises and welcomes you in the Suhrental. The route dips once again and emerges in an even less known strip of Switzerland, also adorned with a castle; the Ruedertal. The route then follows magnificent ridges with hardly any settlement. Only the Lucerne village of Beromünster offers diverse liveliness, whether with the impressive collegiate church or the small old town and its culinary temptations. A final passage leads back towards Lucerne, offering repeatedly magnificent views of the Pilatus and the Central Swiss Alps.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
Anyone who rides up to Liebegg Castle can go through the forest to a second fortress, Trostburg in Teufenthal, and meet the route again there.
