Hike

Small valley exactly north-south.

This tour starts at Rengg, a moderately difficult circular hike. The elevation is a beautiful viewpoint, with views from the Entlebuch Pre-Alps to the Säntis. A few minutes south of Howald, you pass a hunting lodge. Lattewald and Mooswald are typical spruce forests with many blueberry bushes. Along the way, the three wind turbines can be admired repeatedly. The one at Lutersarni is the largest, at 120 meters, producing electricity for about 600 households. At the Wide farm, you can usually see a piece of land planted with herbs during the summer half-year. There is also a large drying facility for all kinds of herbs here, processed by the Entlebucher Herb Cooperative into fine tea blends. Four fifths of the harvested herbs are delivered to Ricola and used in the creation of the world-famous candies.
