  • Destination: Husky Lodge

The half-hour walk leads from the rear part of the village of Muotathal along the Muota and some springs to the Husky Lodge. About 30 sled dogs live there and can be visited. With the forests and the few houses, the landscape is reminiscent of Canada.

We start at the bus stop “Rear Bridge” in Muotathal. The path mainly runs on a dam on the south side along the Muota. Depending on the season, the gurgling and, with the onset of snowmelt, the rushing of the wild stream accompanies you. On the way, you pass a quarry where marble was mined in the 1970s and 1980s. Over the flat pastureland on the right, snowshoe hikers head towards Fugglen. The walking path is not signposted. After a visit with the huskies or a refreshment in the restaurant of the Husky Lodge, you return to the village by the same way.
