Panoramic hike on the Lindenberg (Schongau - Horben - Hohenrain)

The Spiel-, Fun- and Adventure Park Schongiland is widely known. While the little ones let off steam in the park, the adults relax at the stone mill from the year 1036, where grain is still ground today, or in the cozy pub. The next stop is Spiel!Golf Hämikerberg. Here, golf is played in a playful way between old farmhouses in an 18-hole course. Those who have become hungry after so much play can recharge right away at the Gasthaus Hämikerberg or further along the route at the Alpwirtschaft Horben. Then continue to Lieli, where you can climb one of the oldest and best-preserved castle ruins in the canton of Lucerne. In Ibenmoos, you pass the idyllic pilgrimage chapel “Maria zum Schnee”. The last stretch to the chapel is lined with Stations of the Cross. The final highlight of the hike is the Johanniter Commandery Hohenrain. The Johanniters are considered the oldest spiritual order of knights. In the 13th century, the Commandery experienced its heyday as a pilgrims’ hostel and administrative center of the extensive property holdings of the order. Today the historic walls and the magnificent view of the Alps provide the setting for celebrations of all kinds.
