Realp - Zumdorf (circular route)

From Realp railroad station, walk along the right-hand side of the valley on the roller ski run and later on the hiking trail to the smallest village in Switzerland, Zumdorf. The Zum Dörfli - Naturstubä restaurant is perfect for refreshments before you change sides of the valley and walk past the gravel works. You then take the path back to Realp. The path to Realp leads along the Furkareuss and during the hike you will discover the unique floodplain landscape with its rich birdlife and, if you are lucky, you may even spot some marmots. It is also worth taking a short detour from the path to the Reuss for a short break. Past lush meadows and surrounded by imposing mountain ranges, you reach the other side of the small village of around 150 inhabitants. The large parking lot at the entrance to the village takes you back to the train station where the route started.
