The Rotondohütte at 2570 m above sea level offers surrounding beautiful hikes in summer and breathtaking ski tours in winter. The sun terrace offers a sensational view of the Witenwasser Glacier, which becomes even more beautiful with the culinary specialties of the hut.
The route starts in Realp (1538 m above sea level). The path leads into the Witenwasserental on the wide and very well-maintained military road towards Oberstafel. Passing green meadows and surrounded by impressive mountain chains, you hike up the winding road. The road requires a permit and car traffic is therefore limited, which makes hiking even more enjoyable.
At point 2155, on the right in the direction of travel, the hike leaves the military road and follows a well-trodden path around the Helig Egg up to the Rotondohütte at 2,570 m above sea level.

Directions & Parking facilities
Realp is easily accessible by car: from the north, you drive via the A2 to Göschenen and from there 6 kilometers through the impressive Schöllenenschlucht and over the world-famous Devil's Bridge to Andermatt. Then continue towards the Furka Pass to Realp.
From the south, you reach Realp in summer over the Gotthard Pass or year-round through the Gotthard Tunnel to Göschenen and from there further into the Urserntal and to Realp.
From the west, from Valais, you reach Realp via the Furka Pass or by car shuttle from Oberwald to Realp.
From the east, from the canton of Graubünden, you reach Realp via the Oberalp Pass or by car shuttle from Sedrun to Andermatt and from there along the Furkareuss to Realp.
If you don't want to walk the entire route, you can drive with a permit into the Witenwasserental up to Oberstafel. The driving permit can be obtained from the Korporation Ursern, Andermatt-Urserntal Tourismus GmbH, or via Parkingpay.
Day parking spaces are marked in front of the village (MGB / Grotto Stella d'Oro area) and on the village square and can be used for a fee between 6:00 a.m. and midnight. More information: Municipality of Realp
