Rested and with newly refueled energy, you set off on the second stage of Route 1291. This leads from Altdorf through various towns in the Urner Valley. The Reuss is your faithful companion as you pass Erstfeld, Silenen, Gurtnellen, Wassen and finally Göschenen. From here, it climbs steeply up to Andermatt, the end point of the second stage of Route 1291 at around 1,437 meters above sea level.

From Altdorf the route leads to Erstfeld and Silenen, further to Gurtnellen, Wassen and finally Göschenen. From here it goes steeply uphill to Andermatt.
