The path starts at Sarnen train station and first leads through the village center to the Sarneraa. The path gently follows the Sarneraa to Kägiswil Kernmatt, where the railway tracks are crossed and the path is shared with cyclists, then continues along the motorway to the Wichelsee. From the Wichelsee, the path gently ascends and leads to the center of the village Kägiswil. From there, it is possible to take the post bus back to the starting point.
