The path is well marked from Fankhaus with pink poles. Initially gentle, then steep, the path leads towards the Napf. At Grüebli 1277m, the path leads either right towards the Napf (25 minutes) and then via Trachselegg to Luthern Bad (approx. 1 hour 20 minutes) or (our choice) left to Alp Niederänzi and onwards to Luthern Bad (1 hour).

The duration of the route also strongly depends on snow conditions. Fast and fit snowshoers can probably complete the route in 3.5 hours; others who prefer to take it easy will surely need 4.5 hours.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
It is advantageous to start in Fankhaus and take the post bus back from Luthern Bad to Zell, because Luthern Bad has a restaurant, while Fankhaus does not.
