Napf and Napf region

Viewpoint

From the summit of the Napf, which lies at 1406 meters above sea level, deep, steep trenches run down into the valley in a star shape. The summit can only be reached on foot.

The Napfbergland was not populated for a long time due to its inaccessibility. Today, the Napf region is a popular destination for various outdoor activities.

If you want to climb the summit, you still have to use your own muscle power. There are no roads or railroads leading up to the Napf. Instead, it can be reached on foot or by bike and, when the weather is fine, nature lovers meet up to enjoy the magnificent panorama.

Legends and stories

Where nature was harsh, legends and stories were born. This is also the case in the Napf region. The lonely landscape with its "Chrächen and ditches" has inspired the imagination for gruesome stories. There are stories about the "Türst", the "Sträggele" and the "Männer vom Enziloch", among others. For example, the menacing figures from the Enziloch were held responsible for the terrible Napf thunderstorms.
