Follow the Ringstrasse to the Sternegg ski lift. From there, use the gravel road via Sternegg, Restaurant Klingenstock to Brunnerboden. Then hike straight ahead to the Chruterenwald junction. At the Alp Geissbützen, the trail climbs steeply for a few minutes. Take the path towards Wannentritt to Goldplangg. After a total of 3 hours - mostly over solitary mountain paths - the mountain hut “Goldplangg” is reached. From its terrace, you can see across to the Lidernenhütte and get an idea of the strenuous ascent still ahead.
First, however, it goes steeply downwards. From the main road to Riemenstalden, a trail branches off to the left to the Lidernenhütte, but the inviting wooden hut is visible again just before that. The Lidernenhütte of the SAC has dormitories and good food. You reach the valley via Chäppeliberg to Riemenstalden.
