Hike

The hike with the best view of the Mythen and over the Alpine world, lakes.

Our hike starts about 100m next to the mountain station of the aerial cableway Morschach-Stoos, where we turn onto Stooswaldstrasse towards Morschach. In the middle of the forest, we turn at the Jochli-Eu fork onto the hiking trail. Through the shady forest, we reach the pasture area of Alp Eu without much effort. Now begins the ascent of the north face of Fronalpstock via the Bärentros trail. The mountain trail is manageable but requires good surefootedness. After leaving behind the large spruces and gnarled pines, we reach the flatter western alpine area of Fronalpstock. Heading west, the ascent continues. By now, you understand why the trail is called the viewpoint trail. The entire Schwyz basin lies at our feet. At Charenstöckli, we make a short detour to Chänzeli, offering a view over Morschach. From here on, our only goal is the Fronalpstock summit.

Here we first enjoy the view of over ten Swiss lakes and countless Alpine peaks. We follow the Fronalpstock panoramic trail and then begin descending towards Furggeli. From there, we continue descending into the quiet Frontal area, following the mountain stream until we return to the mountain village of Stoos. Passing the Stoos lake, we reach our starting point at the aerial cableway again.
