A relaxed 2 km circular trail from the Mostelberg mountain station. Ideal for families and baby carriages, with barbecue areas for short breaks.

The promenade invites you to take a leisurely stroll through the pre-alpine landscape around the Mostelberg mountain station. On the approximately 2 km long circular trail, you can expect gentle inclines of 60 m in total and numerous opportunities to take a break in a mountain inn or at the barbecue areas along the way. The trail is pram-friendly and ideal for families. In around 30 minutes, you can enjoy nature in peace and quiet - ideal for a short break with panoramic views and fresh mountain air.

Directions

Start at the Mostelberg mountain station. From there, turn right through the courtyard and continue past the meadows to the first fireplace. The trail then leads through a small wood to the next fireplace by the stream, ideal for a short break or a picnic. Then turn left past the Herrenboden mountain inn and back to the Mostelberg mountain station.

Equipment

We recommend wearing clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy footwear such as trekking shoes or sturdy sneakers for the stroll. This way you can enjoy the walk comfortably and safely - regardless of sun, wind or rain.

From Zurich via highway Zurich-Chur, exit Schindellegi, direction Schwyz (approx. 40 min)

From Zug via Aegerital (approx. 20 min)

From Lucerne via highway Zug-Schwyz, exit Schwyz, direction Pfäffikon-Sattel (approx. 40 min.)

Paid parking spaces are available at the valley station of the "Stuckli Rondo" revolving gondola lift.

Südostbahn (SOB) S31 from Rapperswil, Pfäffikon, Wädenswil, Einsiedeln, Lucerne, Arth-Goldau. Sattel-Aegeri" railroad station (6 minutes on foot to the valley station of the gondola lift).
Voralpen-Express: Romanshorn-St.Gallen-Lucerne express train connection (stops in Biberbrugg and Arth-Goldau). Connecting buses from Biberbrugg (direction Rothenthurm-Sattel-Schwyz). Auto AG Schwyz (AAGS) from Schwyz (Sattel stop, gondola lift).
Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe (ZVB) from Zug (bus route 601) to Oberägeri, change to bus route 609 to the Sattel stop, take the gondola lift.

Make sure you take a short detour below the Skywalk suspension bridge and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Lauitobel and the "Skywalk" - a worthwhile moment for photos and to take a deep breath.
