How it works
Each playing lane is clearly recognizable: both the starting point and the target are marked with the Urban Golf logo.
The tee-off always takes place from the so-called "Bäsli". To prevent it from flying away, it should be secured with a string and a lanyard.
The ball farthest from the goal is always played next – regardless of the order of players.
If a ball is unplayable, it is brought back into play at the spot where it left the regular lane. Whether this is penalized with a penalty point should be agreed upon before starting.
The aim is to get the ball into or onto the goal with as few strokes as possible.
The number of strokes per lane is recorded on the scorecard. As with mini-golf, we recommend a maximum of six strokes per lane.
At the end of the round, the strokes of all lanes are added up – the winner is the one who has used the fewest in total.
Safety note
If a lane is occupied by pedestrians or other obstacles, a safe detour must be chosen or the lane skipped.
Game rules
In the urban golf scene there are no universal rules except: "Safety first."
The lanes are on public ground. Consideration and deliberately avoiding dangerous situations is considered a matter of course. Lucerne Tourism declines any liability.
Play is only permitted on officially signposted lanes.
Only the special Urban Golf equipment may be used to play.
Urban Golf is ideal for children from about 8 years old. A round is best played in small groups of up to eight people – two teams of four players each are recommended.
Lane Seestrasse Target: Fountain Try your luck and play the ball directly into the fountain – completely relaxed! If the ball drifts off: please do not run onto the street.
Lane Gemeindepark Target: Wooden box The area around the swing is often busy – play here with special attention. And don't forget: the terrain slopes slightly.
Lane Oberstufenschulhaus: Hit the stone group, paying attention to whether people are in the target area. With high grass, walk along the edge of the meadow as much as possible.
Lane Rigiblick Target: Tree trunk The target is the trunk! Pay attention to others – sometimes people come back from the meadow. With high grass please walk along the edge – this makes it pleasant for everyone.
Lane Rigiblick Parking Target: Catch net challenge lane: Three attempts from the tee-off – how many hits can you make? Each hit counts negatively: 1 hit = –1 | 2 hits = –2 | 3 hits = –3 | No hit = 0 points
Lane Zingelistrasse Target: Fire hydrant Keep the ball rather to the right – but not too high and not too far. A skillful shot brings you to the target.
Lane Water Reservoir Target: Wall marking challenge lane: You have three attempts from the tee-off. For each hit a point is deducted: 1 hit = –1 | 2 hits = –2 | 3 hits = –3 | No hit = 0 points
Lane Ludothek Target: Downpipe Here the ball can easily roll away – play with sensitivity and a touch of precision!
Lane Schoolhouse Target: Lantern If children are playing on the meadow or the lawn is closed, please tee off by the wall edge. Play like on the golf course – put the snout back after the shot. The ball should not fly over the wall.
Tips for your swing
Stay relaxed: Pay attention to a relaxed posture. Your knees should be slightly bent, the upper body leaning forward. Keep your back as straight as possible – an upright spine supports your control during the stroke. Include a practice swing: Make a practice swing before every tee-off – without ball or "Bäsli". Ideally, the club lightly touches the ground. Start slowly: Rather rely on a calm, controlled swing. A slow, half swing usually brings more precision than a hectic full swing with a lot of power. Keep your eyes on the ball: Keep the ball in sight at all times – also during the stroke. Only when contact with the club occurs may your gaze follow.
