cross country skiing

The 32 km trails of the Andermatt holiday region run through the valley floor from Andermatt via Hospental to Realp. They are designed for classic cross-country skiing and skating. In the sun and fresh air, the entire body is trained. This cross-country skiing round leads into the smallest village in Switzerland.

The 7.3 kilometer long trail invites you to an attractive and varied cross-country skiing round: The demanding, undulating part invites you to endurance training, while the flatter sections offer the opportunity to refine technique.

Between Zumdorf, Steinbergen and Realp, the riparian forest covers the valley floor and gives this trail section a special charm.  The riparian forest is one of the last remnants of the still undeveloped riverbank landscapes in the Alps and of national importance.

Changing rooms, toilets and showers are located in Realp at the biathlon center and in Zumdorf at the restaurant «zum Dörfli», where cross-country skiers can strengthen themselves with fondue, raclette or a piece of homemade cake, and enjoy the guest room with an open fireplace.
