House of Art Uri

Museum
Exhibition
Impressive, thought-provoking works of art are presented in the centre of Altdorf. The works of the well-known Uri painter Heinrich Danioth also have their place in the Haus für Kunst Uri.
The Haus für Kunst Uri was opened in 2004 - but the building in which it is located is much older. The three-storey building was erected in 1845 and was last used as a printing works by the Gamma company. After extensive renovation, it was inaugurated as an exhibition centre in May 2004. The Haus für Kunst Uri offers space for contemporary exhibitions on three floors, an extension hall and a spacious courtyard. In 2009, the "Danioth Pavilion" was opened, making the works of the Uri artist Heinrich Danioth accessible to the public. The works come from the collection of Max Dätwyler, who made the construction of this pavilion possible. The artworks by Heinrich Danioth are regularly integrated into the current exhibitions and can be found at various locations in the Haus für Kunst Uri. The Kunstverein Uri strives to create a place of encounter and exchange with a varied programme and its own premises. Various events during the exhibitions round off the programme of the Haus für Kunst.
