After a brief look at the picturesque old town of Sursee, where the many historical buildings still preserve the town's late medieval appearance, the trail begins with a wide loop to the lido. Here you can catch your first glimpse of the idyllic Lake Sempach.
The path now branches off a little from the shore and leads through flowering fields as far as the eye can see. After enjoying the unspoiled nature, you come across an impressive, extensive orchard in the village of Oberkirch. As soon as you leave the village, you are treated to a breathtaking view over seemingly endless green spaces that stretch all the way to Nottwil.
In Nottwil itself, it is definitely worth making a detour to the impressive grounds of the Swiss Paraplegic Center. Finally, you reach the shores of Lake Sempach again directly at Nottwil railroad station, where you can enjoy a wonderful end to the excursion.
