- Start: Sittlisalp
- Destination: Haldi above Schattdorf
We start at the Sittlisalp (1650 m), a beautiful, typical Uri high alpine pasture. The gentle ascent through the Griesstal leads us into a high alpine world full of rocks and stones. South of the Hoch Fulen, the path leads us over Stichplatten to a pass-like crossing (Pt. 2366 m).
Here a magnificent view opens up. After a traverse above Lang Büel, we begin our descent towards Grätli (2252 m). The route past Lang Büel is somewhat difficult to find. The path is also exposed - concentration and caution are required.
Now the hike leads us into another world with lush meadows. We cross via Butzenstein (1795 m) through the Oberfeld goat, cattle and cow alp pastures and reach the Planzerhütte (1376 m) on the Haldi (1348 m, near the mountain and ski house Oberfeld) into a landscape shaped by traditional agriculture, as it has been maintained for generations in the canton of Uri.

Legendary: If you meet alpine herders on the way, feel free to talk to them. They will certainly be able to tell you a mountain legend. Such stories abound in Uri's side valleys and are fascinating.
Safety guidelines
Mountain hiking is demanding.
For mountain and alpine hiking trails, knowledge of the dangers in the mountains (rockfall, slipping/fall hazard, sudden weather changes) is necessary. Sturdy hiking boots with grippy soles, weather-appropriate equipment, topographic national maps (not just smartphone), compass and altimeter belong to the basic equipment. Additionally, a small first-aid kit, emergency blanket and mobile phone for emergencies are part of the basic equipment.
It is recommended to plan hikes seriously and prepare carefully for each hike. The weather in the mountains can change very quickly. Fog can also make orientation difficult even in summer. The greatest danger in summer besides heat are thunderstorms. Thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail can quickly turn a small brook into large rivers and increase the danger of mudflows and rockfall. Therefore, it is important to interpret weather forecasts when planning tours. Thermal thunderstorms usually come only in the afternoon, but frontal thunderstorms can occur at any time. In general, it is worthwhile to start early in summer.
Mountain guides or qualified hiking leaders (up to T4) are recommended for alpine trails (marked white-blue-white), hiking leaders for hikes and mountain hikes. They take over the organization and planning of tours so that guests can simply enjoy the hike.
The Uri hiking planner and the Uri Outdoor App help with planning. Via Geo Admin one finds many useful information, e.g. where pastures with herd protection dogs, mother cow pastures and also wildlife protection zones are located.
Hikers hike at their own risk. The Ursner Wanderwege association is not liable for accidents that occur during the Ursner Alpenkranz hike.
