The monastery village Maria-Rickenbach (Niederrickenbach) can be reached from Dallenwil (Niederrickenbach valley station) by cable car. Many guests visit the "Pilgerhaus" near the mountain station to discover the secret of the "Alpöhi" dessert. In half an hour you reach the valley station of the very special chairlift to Haldigrat. It is considered a small cable car, as only 8 people travel in one direction at a time. Then you walk to the Brisenhaus and via the Bärenfallen to the opposite Musenalp. After a snack, the cable cars take everyone back to the valley. From Haldigrat, two and a half hours of pure walking time must be calculated.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
"Alpöhi" dessert at the Pilgerhaus Maria-Rickenbach and then to finish the «Nidwalden fried cheese slice» on the Musenalp. Unlike the Swiss classic, in this cheese slice grated cheese is melted in the frying pan and spread over a slice of Ruchbrot.
