A walk like through a cherry orchard. In spring, the sea of blossoms enchants, in summer various farm shops along the route sell plump, sun-ripened cherries - and also homemade cherry brandy.

The circuit begins and ends just a few steps from the oldest distillery in Switzerland: S. Fassbind AG. A highlight in the distillery shop, open Monday to Friday, is the Rigi-Kirsch AOP. We quickly leave the residential area behind and walk through a wide plain. Scattered farms, grazing cows, resting goats, many blooming cherry trees, and the Rigi on the horizon – it feels like walking through a landscape painting. After a short gentle ascent, the view of Lake Zug and the village of Arth completes this impression.

Along the way, there are repeated opportunities to buy directly from the farm: from cherry brandy and fruit to ice cream and meat to herbs. This way, the walk can also be used as a sustainable shopping route. Having returned to the plain, we cross the Rigiaa for the second time, watch a cat hunting mice, and finally return to the starting point with a bag full of Schwyz flavors.
