On beautiful bike paths, the route leads through gentle hill landscapes to the St. Urban monastery complex and further with a scenic view via Alberswil and the Kastelen castle ruins back to Willisau.

The route starts at Willisau train station and follows Heart Route 99 through the picturesque old town towards Zell. It then continues towards Madiswil, where the typical farmhouses and gentle hills show us that we are now in the Emmental.

At Madiswil, we leave the Heart Route and follow Route 71 to Langenthal. In Langenthal, the high sidewalks are especially noticeable; these were created at the time to channel the river through the streets in case of flooding. From Langenthal, we follow the signs for Route 84 and soon see the distinctive onion domes of the St. Urban monastery complex. A stop is worthwhile to visit the park area and the baroque monastery church.

The ride continues on Route 84 to Pfaffnau. There, we switch to Route 38 towards Willisau. We ride along beautiful ridges with lovely views of the Alps. In Grossdietwil, the Gasthaus Löwen invites for a break. The route continues to Zell, from where we follow the Luther and soon see the Kastelen castle ruins on the hill. At the Bio Farm Agrovision, we take one last stop before cycling along the Planet Trail back to Willisau.
